Here is a quick guide on how to install Lightroom Presets, The quickest option is Method 1 but the most efficient way to manage folders and all presets is Method 2. Both methods are important to learn and realize are available, there is no mass delete in Lightroom so Method 2 is great for deleting groups of presets at a time.

Method 1. Installing Presets in the Lightroom Application

Step 1 – Make sure you are in the developer mode.

Step 2 – Open up or expand your presets column which is on the left side by default.

Step 3 – Create a New Folder (named for example ‘Downloaded Presets’)

Step 4 – Right click the folder name and select “Import”.

Step 5 – Browse your computer and select your presets you would like to import after you have downloaded them to your computer. You can select multiple presets (so put them all in one folder if you download them individually) so you will not have to do them one at a time.

Step 6 – Click Import and you should see your new presets in the folder, if for any reason they show up in another folder or area you can drag and drop them vertically into any folder (except the default Lightroom Presets folder).

Method 2. Directly installing to the Lightroom folder.

Step 1 – In another folder (or your desktop) have your Preset ready and saved to your computer.

Step 2 – Click the presets panel (when you’re in developing mode in lightroom) and on a right mouse click you can “Show in Explorer” which opens up the folder and presets window in the same path as below:

My Computer > Local Disk (C Drive) > Users > Your UserName > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Lightroom > Develope Presets

Notes : You can create and easily manage your folders and presets here and mass delete presets which is something you can’t directly do in the Lightroom program itself.

Step 3 – With the presets folders open, you can now drag and drop presets into this box from wherever you have your original presets saved.

Step 4 – You will note any changes made in this method will not take change if you have the Lightroom program open so you will need to restart lightroom.
